KOOL Mornings
The station is decent, it's about time there was one. However: the stream quality on anything but their own site is incredibly bad. I don't know why people even listen to this stream, it sounds like an old AM radio! Other reviewers only talk about listening in their car, over FM, but who does that anymore? I guess NS got stuck in the 90's! The stream on their website is Flash-only (flv stream), so it cannot be used in any radio streaming application (like TuneIn, Windows Media Player or VLC) or internet radio devices. For that reason: zero stars! This is 2015 guys! There are tens of thousands of radio stations online and most of them sound better than this. It think Streema should block stations with streams like this.

Just as most say, the station became lame for sooooh long, now I too am back listening, 57yrs old and I luv it.

I am listening to your station more and more. I was reluctant to change as I am a creature of habit, lol, and figure "if it aint' broke, don't fix it". However, I am becoming a regular listener (started with the morning show) and appreciate not only the balanced opinions that are expressed but also the involvement with community concerns/events. Also enjoy the focus of the music on the local scene. Its clearly not a station that is just making noise on air.... it has depth. Obviously, the DJ's are researching their topics and have a sense of humor! - well done!

We didn't need another techno pop station in Halifax. The old format was much more appealing and unique. I'd suggest listening to 89.9 The Wave.

Excellent station. I love the songs they play and its one of two stations that I listen to when I am driving.

Great station! I live about an hour away from Halifax and can probably pick up 30 stations from my vehicle. Ever since finding 96.5 Halifax, this is the only station I listen to in my vehicle and at my office all day. It is refreshing to see a station try something new. It is much easier to fall into the mold of EVERY other station out there (country, top 40, classic rock, etc). Keep playing great music!

You guys who are obsessed with Griff and Caroline need some new hobbies, the format flipped at the end of August and you are still talking about Griff and Caroline like they are going to come back. The new format is uncomfortable for those of you who still think there was nothing wrong with the old one, I get that. Unfortunately the numbers can't lie, KOOL FM was in a downward spiral. Those of you who keep spewing about the integrity of the station, the cost this flip has had for YOU personally...well I just can't take you seriously. It's clear you know little about radio and even less about business. I have to ask, did any of you even try the new format? I'm sure you will claim you did, and it was like nails on a chalkboard for you! Now I will ask you to clear your mind of your bias and prejudices against the new format and try to listen again. The personalities are great, the programming is entertaining, and frankly I think people who are still hung up on KOOL FM need to start living in the present. Great work Radio 96-5, keep it up!

I think the new station is great. I love how they have no dumb contests, I was so sick of hearing them, now I get to hear some music in the morning. They started out good with the hosts not talking about their lives to much, they have slipped into doing it some but as long as they don't increase this I will still like it.

Griff and Caroline were nauseating, I cringed when I heard them. They appealed to some but the change was the right thing to do.
